In addition, prickly pear and occasional
Indian paintbrush can be found.
Ponderosa pines were found to be up to 40 feet tall at 20 trees per acre in the
densest woodland. Pinyon pine decorates the site 50 trees an acre, at a max height of 25
feet. Juniper can also be found in smaller numbers, approximately 5 trees an acre at a
height of 20 feet. Squaw current was the predominant shrub found within the woodland.
Approximately 20 shrubs an acre at a height of 8 feet were found at the highest
conservation. Ground cover in the treed areas is about 55%.
The meadows predominantly consist of blue grams grass, from 4 to 12 inches in
height, and fringed sage 8 inches tall.
