EXHIBIT D--MINING PLAN
Mining will commence early in the year 2001 as soon as permits are in hand. The
proposed operation's purpose is to establish a gravel pit for Fremont County road
maintenance in the surrounding area in western Fremont County. The reserve consists of
decomposed granite under lied by granite bedrock. At full capacity, the mine is expected
to produce 30,000 tons/year of gravel. The life of mine is expected to be 10-years. The
plan for the decomposed granite is to direct haul the material from the pit to the roads. In
the event that the decomposed granite deposit is exhausted, the bedrock will be utilized
by way of drilling and blasting. Contract crushing and screening will then be used as
needed. Product stockpiles will be located along the eastern boundary of the proposed
permit area.
Portions of the site contain 2 to 8 feet of soil, which will be stockpiled along the
northeast boundary, prior to mining, far future reclamation purposes. Any slopes created
in the mine area will be graded to no steeper than 3:1,HN and stabilized via contour
riling to minimize erosion of newly exposed material. After mining, the floor and slopes
of the disturbed area will be seeded with a native mixture of grasses and shrubs.
Mine equipment will consist of a bulldozer and front-end loader for removal and
stockpiling of the gravel, and haul trucks for transportation of the material. Due to the
simplicity of the mining operation, no permanent structures are planned, nor are any
utilities or service facilities needed
4
