Sample analysis was performed on September
19, 1983 at I+fesa College (Grand Junction, C0.) under the guidance of
~r. Johnson (Geology Dept.). i3esults of this investigation are as accurate
4s time and resources would allow. The sole intentior. of this investigation
is to relay information and observations for you to use as you see fit.
I have made no inferences, conclusions or recommendations herein. I have
attached several notes at the end of this letter, pertinent to the under-
standing of this investigation, for your general information.
'__"he topography of the Ha11 Gravel Fit area is of the "3adlands" type---
small mesas cut by intermittent streams. T_n general, the site slopes
slightly to the north-northwest. The elevztion ranges from approximately
~'s'-0 feet to 4980 feet above sea level---the higher elevations being in the
southeast part of the rroperty. The area contains two mesas and txo small
knolls. The slopes of the mesas range in grade from S,~ to 40;~ --the steepest
slope being in the far watt part of the property (Phase 5). A small saddle
connects the two mesas. The arainages on the south side cf the site flox
to the southwest and the drainages on the north flox to the northwest.
:''his area consists of barren, dry desert grcund. Apparently, it has never
been irrigated ard, until noia, has only been used for occasional pastureland.
