<br />• <br /> <br />. ,~en~ <br />SECTION IA.2.a.2 <br />~~~ <br />Water monitoring reports for the surface water monitoring program from 1981 <br />to date in accordance with 2.05.6(3)(.6)(iii) of the permit application, to <br />be submitted semiannually. <br />RESPONSE <br />Water monitoring reports for the Hayden Gulch Mine are attached. No data <br />was collected for 1981 and 1984. The 1982 data includes information for the <br />spring snow melt from an upstream (undisturbed) and downstream (disturbed) <br />location. No data was collected during a rainfall event in 1982. Only one <br />sample was taken during 1983. No data was collected during a rainfall event <br />during 1983. <br />A surface water monitoring site has been located immediately below Outfall <br />004 (Pond HG-8) in Hayden Gulch. A second sampling site has been identified <br />upstream of all mining activity and is adjacent to the mine office. Water <br />samples will be collected at both sites during spring snow melt and one <br />rainfall event in 1985, and each year thereafter. No sampling is planned <br />for Dowden Gulch. No mining activities are scheduled to occur in the <br />drainage area of Dowden Gulch prior to closure of the mine. <br />Rev. March 1985 <br />
