Banks and Gesso, LLC
Exhibit J -Vegetation Information
The proposed permit area consists primarily of degraded upland pasture and irrigated,
cropped fields, with some riparian habitat at the eastern fringe, along Fountain Creek
and outside the affected area (see Exhibit C-1 ).
Cropped areas are typically used to produce alfalfa and hay for a livestock operation on
the site. Two small wetlands exist within the general vicinity of the affected area. Both
wetlands will be avoided and buffered during mining and reclamation.
Vegetation found on the riparian corridor includes Plains cottonwood, Peachleaf willow,
American elm, Russian olive, Box-elder, Green ash, Coyote willow, Salt-cedar
(Tamarisk), Snowberry, Smooth brome, White panicle aster, and Prairie cordgrass. The
proposed operation is set back from the riparian corridor to preserve vegetative and
habitat values.
Please see the attached report from ERO, Inc, (Attachment E), for further detail
regarding wetlands.
p'17'°Sr'~~PQ ~~
OCT 0 2 2006
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Saizty
Sundance Sand and Gravel Resource utiuio
Lafarge West, Inc.
