As stated earlier, the sloping will be done to reflect and
extend the existing iendscape.
4b. Uur• application does make use of c~~ncr•ete rubble for• slope
and drainage stabilization. Our• discussions with Ur•barr
Drainabe will modify that use. Where concrete rubble is
appropriate, it wii_1 be covered with soil and plant eh with
a grass mixture as reconmrended by the Araoanoe County Soil
Conservation Service.
4c. In our• further discussi~~ns with the S~~ii Conservation
Service, it became evident that the extent of root growth in
Cottonwood trees can vary pr•eatly fr•~~m location t~~ l~~cati~~n.
Our• plan now is to specificaliv locate the extent of root
growth f~~r• each tree pr•o up. We will identify a lar~pe
lateral root on a cottonwood tree closest to the nrininp edge
and di , by _hand ,__-along this root to the its end. This
point will then be the beginning pf the mining cut. In this
wav we can pr•eser^ve the entire root Structure ~~f the
cottonwood trees.
4d. Our• grass and plant types were selected in consultation with
the Coior•ado Division of Wildlife and the Arapahoe C~~unty
Soil Consee•v at i~~n Service. Uur• list does includ_e__w_etland
vegetation types.
We e~goreciate your c~~nstructive criticism and c•~ncise remarks
conc:er•ning our• application. We hope that our Answers have
satisfied your- c~~ncer•ns.
