<br />EXHIBIT D <br />RECLAMATION PLAN <br />(1) <br />(a) Overburden w,T~l be replaced when there is a sufficient area <br />affected (3 5/acres). It will not disrupt mining operations. <br />(b) Maximum gradient of reclaimed slopes will be 3H:1V <br />(c) <br />(i) all stockpiled overburden and topsoil will be used <br />exclusively for reclamation <br />(ii) pit will be seeded on an nn-going basis (see (1) <br />(a) above). Seedbed will be worked to provide well <br />settled and firm but friablefor seed replacement. <br />Soils that have been over-compacted by equipment <br />should be tilled to break up restrictive layers, <br />then harrowed, rolled or packed to prepare the <br />required firm seedbed. <br />(iii) The Natural Resources Conservation Service has <br />recommended the following seed mixture: <br />VARIETY SPECIES SEED POUNDS/ACRE <br />Elida Sand Bluestem / 2.04 <br />Goshen Prairie Sandreed 1.05 <br />Blackwell Switch grass / ~05~ d~ <br />" Llano Yellow Indiangras / ~ , 5 <br />Vaughn Sideoats Grama ~ .45 <br />(iv) application method will be by seed drilling. Drill <br />spacing will be 7-12" and planting depth will be <br />1/4"-1/2". <br />(v) a straw mulch will be spread and crimped into the <br />soil at a minimum rate of 2000 pounds per acre. <br />Mulch will stick 6" out of the soil to control wind <br />and water erosion until grass becomes established. <br />(vi) Trees and shrubs will not be planted since this <br />will be reclaimed for rangeland purposes. <br />(d) No structures or water features will remain after <br />reclamation. <br />
