~-
' + February 298
Robert Steers
P.O. Box 1193 DECEIVED
Canon City, CO 8 (215-1193
r -, ., .. ,
~~ :.
_ i''~
Colorado Division of Minerals and GeologiyisionotMinerals&Geology
Mr. James C. Stevens
1313 Sherman Street, t2oom 215
Denver, CO 80203
REF: Parkdale Project (M-97-0Sd)
Dear Mr. Stevens;
iii iuiiiiiiiiii iii
sss
[ have reviewed the documents submitted to the Fremont County Recorder's office by Agile
Stone regazding the above mentioned permit and I object to the issuance of a permit on this project.
Agile Stone Systems, Inc. is proposing to remove the majority of materials from the mining site
via rail line; however, at this time they do not have any access to the rail line. Even the ownership of the
rail line at their site is currently ut question. Union Pacific has not yet abandoned this line and its future is
somewhat in limbo at this time. Unless Agile Stone has proof of access to this rail line they should not be
given the permit since they will have no other adequate access to transport the materials.
Although it is true that a bridge crosses the river from Highway 50 onto County Road 0151
(which is the only access road into the Parkdale Project) this same bridge, built in 1917, is a single lane
crossing, 13 1/2 feet wide with a 14 ton capacity. The road leading from the bridge on the North side of
the Arkansas River is a 50' right of way bordered on both sides by private property. This is not enough
area to build atwo-lane road to provide safe access for their trucks, employees, and for myself and my
wife to access our home without danger.
[ object strongly to the issuing of any mining permit to said Agile Stone Systems, Inc. unless
adequate proof of access to and from the property for the purpose of transporting the mined material can
be achieved.
Thank you for considering my objections.
Si~n~cQer~el~y-~
~~'v~
Robert Steers
