Pit - File No. M-85-112 <br />Dear Mr. Nelson: <br />I have reviewed this application for adequacy and have the followin questions <br />and comments that must be addressed in detail at least 10 days prio~ to the <br />August 22-23, 1985 meeting of the Mined Land Reclamation Board: <br />A. Exhibit D - Mining Plan <br />1. Please enter into an agreement with the owners of all pe~lnanent, <br />man-made structures located within 200 feet of the minin operation <br />that damage to the structure will be compensated for by he <br />operator. Please provide a copy of the agreement for th~ file. <br />The staff has identified a number of buildings and a pow r lines, <br />are there any other structures? <br />2. Please describe the method to be used to mine the gravel deposit in <br />detail. <br />3. The staff understands that the operator will stock pile the topsoil <br />in the locations marked O.P.A., is this correct? <br />4. As required by the performance standards, the operator m~ust~salvage <br />and stockpile the topsoil separate from the rest of tFle verburden <br />in order to protect the quality of the growth medium. a staff <br />recommends that the operator's topsoil stockpiles have slopes no <br />steeper than 3.1 to allow the topsoil piles to be reveg~tated if <br />they are to remain in place for greater than one grow in season. <br />Please indicate if the operator has a problem with this~and if so, <br />why. <br />5. During the life of the project, the operator must have siufficient <br />topsoil stockpiled to replace 6-12 inches over all land areas. <br />Please indicate the amount of topsoil to be stockpiled in cubic <br />yards and the number of acres of ]and to be disturbed, riequiring <br />revegetation, at the worst case. <br />423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
