The attached chemical analysis indicates water of
good quality.
The operational plan calls for pumping water from one cell
into another. This procedure precludes the necessity of
dumping discharging water directly into Tomichi Creek.
In general, since the water is not used in any crushing or
other mining activity, there will be no change in water
quality resulting from the operation of the pit.
Surface Drainage
At present, there is no offsite drainage into the pit area.
The water to the north is intercepted by an irrigation ditch;
on the east, the road ditches transport all runoff directly into
Tomichi Creek; and because of the general slope of the land,
all water to the west flows away from the pit area.
The historic drainage pattern will continue during the mining
operation and after the reclamation lakes are formed. In fact,
no water will flow on or off the property except during times of
severe flooding in Tomichi Creek. Floods of a magnitude such as
would be required to flood the pit or lake area would occur only
infrequently, if at all.
