~~ <br />3-18-87 SDM <br />Suamary of Fhiea.'gency Spillway Design Calculations <br />and Freeboard for Pond 006A <br />The following analysis was done to determine the size of Pond 006A <br />spillway along with the vertical clearance between the bottom of the <br />spillway and the water level after a total discharge fray the thickener. <br />The spillway was sized to handle the discharge of the thickener and <br />disrhai"me from the sewage plant assiaitirg the pond is full. <br />The stage volume ctsve for Pond 006A shows that the vertical distance <br />fran the bottom of the spillway to'the water level after a thickener <br />discharge is one foot (see Map "Pond 006A Pbciifications). <br />In-flow to Pond 006: <br />1. Thickener 0.15 cfs(~2) <br />2. Sewage Plant 0.83 cfs <br />Tbtal 0.93 cfs <br />Determine Spillway Flowline: <br />Spill ray dimensions: Top width = 20' <br />Bottom width = 14.5' <br />Side Slopes = 2.SH:1V <br />Q _ ~3~z <br />4 = design flay = 0.93 cfs <br />C = broad crested wier wnstant = 2.63 <br />L = length of spillway at flowline = 14.5 ft <br />H = flowline depth <br />0.93 cfs = 2.63 (14.5) (H3/2) <br />H3~2 = 0.02 <br />H = 0.08 ft <br />The spillway will flow at a depth of 0.08 ft during the design <br />discharge.
