Riparian habitat is important wildlife <br />habitat for many species of wildlife. Special care should be given to protect <br />the integrity of this habitat for wildlife. <br />' Wintering habitat- The site is located on big game winter range, consisting of <br />pinz~on- unipper and desert shrub habitat topes. <br />Assess.~enY o£1 i~tSact: ~• <br />1 Loss of winter range will impact the big game herYLs that winter in the area. <br />Increased access during the winter matt increase poaching problems. AZZ areas should be re-seeded to species listed in the reclamation plan. In <br />addition, anu vegetation destroued during construction along the riparian zone should <br />be re-vegetated with locally found species. Special care should be gi~~en to sedimentation <br />' and erosion control efforts for all aspscts of the mining operations •~+d project con- <br />struction. AZZ reclamation sites t.~cul be contoured and designed to minimize erosion <br />potential, and maairrtr.ze re-vegetation poten~iaZ.All backup systems should be installed <br />and monitoring systems set up,ta prevent and deteot.any tonic spills ~r leaks. To <br />t minimize impacts to wintering wildlife in the area, noise levels should be kept to <br />a minimwn, and reduced speed limits should be required on all roads within the <br />project area. Roads should be closed to the public, in order to prevent increased <br />' poaching in the area. AZZ employees should be prevented from having firearms in <br />their possession while working, and poaching should be considered for being grounds <br />for dismissal.
