Ar'
3. Fugitive Dust - A relocation permit is required by
fhe Department of Health, this will be acquired. As
rules and regulations change this relocation permit
alerts agencies for review, update and possible new
compliance regulations to be imposed on an operator.
fhe operation may or may not impact air quality
monitors. 'this can be checked specially since they
have metorilogical station on site, so John Barber
states.
4. Drainage - Broderick ~ Gibbons plans were verbally
specific as to not changing the historic drainage
flows. Additional measures were addressed as to
mitigating measures .in the plans. May we note here
that the mining area is of approximately 400 acres,
354 of which is a flat top mesa, gently dipping to
the South East @ 0.9°s slope the remaining 46 acres
is ZOo slope with very high runoff potent.i.al. After
mining the floor of the pit will slope to the South-
East @ approximately 7.30. 'fhe same S.C.S. Curve
N79 shows little change from present conditions. If
erosion begins to show in the mining area then check
dams in draws can be installed. Swales on grade
perpendicular to the flow appears to be the best
method to reduce rwtoff from the floor of the pit.
It is possible to put 1' deep x 38' wide grass Swales
every 100' to eliminate all runoff, however, Broderick
and Gibbons i;g commit~G~ to maintaining the historic
balance. Impounding of more than a few acre feet of
stock water is not reasonable to Broderick F, Gibbons
plans.
S. Reclamation Plan - Broderick $ Gibbons believes that
the bond to the D1ine Land Reclamation Division address
the concerns of re-establishing stable slopes and
grasses prior to the bond release. In addition we
have relocated Broderick F, Gibbons roads, one down
the center of the mining on the lUest Side (30' width
x 5000' length = 32 Acre) - One future road down the
Easterly side of the utility easement again 3'e acres
in size. Broderick F, Gibbons would expect this minor
disturbance to effect its bond. Advice from Fountain
Valley Authority and "1'he City of Colorado Springs
to cross the easements @ 2 locations, one where we
enter the mining area in the North Nest corner by
the existing water toiaer, then again near the center
of our property where the 2 utility easements "1"' a
part.
