Reclamation Plan Exhibit D (revised
Reclamation will begin upon the completion of all mining activity on the site. No phasing or
contemporaneous reclamation will take place due to the limited amount of space on the site.
Final grading will be such that the topography is appropriate for the reclaimed use of the
property. All remaining slopes will be re-contoured to 2h to lv. The remaining horizontal
surface will be used as a staging area for construction, equipment used for mineral resource
development, and eventually as a gas well pad.
Reclamation will begin by bringing the slope to 2h to lv. The most reasonable way to attempt to
reclaim the site will be to use a track hoe to push down material from the top terrace down the
face of the slope to create a more favorable angle of repose. While the track hoe works back
from the terraces it will create pockets with its bucket to dissipate scouring from water erosion.
These pockets will provide a collection point for fine materials that will produce a more
favorable seed bed. Pockets also increase the retention of water on the slopes. Landscape
materials salvaged during initial excavation of the site will be mechanically and/or hand-placed
to reinforce these pockets. Stockpiled salvaged topsoil will be distributed across the pockets at a
depth of approximately 2 to 6 inches. The size and frequency of the pockets will be dependent
upon the size and type of equipment used to create them.
The pocketed slopes will be revegetated in the fall immediately following the commencement of
all mining activities. The seeding will occur between September 15a' and December 15`. The
method of seed placement will be broadcasting. One of the following methods will be used to
protect the seed: erosion control blankets; turf reinforcement mats; mulching, then crimping;
hydromulching; or hydromatting. The seeding mix and species of grasses for the area are shown
on page 8 of this report. This is a seed mixture recommended by the NRCS. The NRCS
suggested this seed mix because of its ability to grow in a wide variety of soil types including the
soil type chazacteristic of the mine site. The seed mix is available through Nilex Environmental
in Denver, Colorado. Some natural invasion of forbs and woody plants from the surrounding
areas are expected.
Slopes will be seeded. The flat azea created by removal of the material will be utilized as a
drilling pad and jurisdiction over the area will pass from the Division of Minerals and Geology to
the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. The flat area will be graveled with clean
gravel from the on-site materials mine. If for any reason, the flat azea is not utilized for gas
production and development, the flat area will remain a graveled staging azea. The revised
Reclamation Cost estimate is $16,641.00; however, the bond recommendation will remain at
$25,000.00 to ensure that any potential costs aze accounted for.
Weed control will be implemented prior to and during revegetation activities. This does not
mean the operator will attempt to kill all weeds, since some provide natural ground cover and
shade for emerging areas. Surveying for noxious and/or problematic weeds will occur every yeaz
the permit is in effect and weed control will be implemented every yeaz that the permit is in
effect. Weed control activities will follow NRCS recommendations and will likely involve using
chemical control agents.
NORTH CtEAA CREEK CONSTRUCTION MA7F.R1 gI G MINE CORDILLERAN COMPLUINCE SEAVICES~ INC
EOSS74 PAGE 12 GRAND JLNCTION~ COLORADO
