If fertility problems become evident, topsoil will, at a minimum, be sampled and analyzed for pH,
particle size, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and organic matter utilizing standard techniques.
Results of the analysis will be maintained at the mine site or Division office. If analysis also indicates
fertility problems, the appropriate amendments may be added as a supplement in revegetated areas that
indicate plant nutrient deficiencies. However, the potential competition affects due to the resultant
flush of annual plant growth associated with fertilization must be evaluated. Specie competition and
trends will be closely observed and documented where a fertilizer supplement has been used. This
information will be included in the Annual Reclamation Report for Seneca II-W Mine.
