Scenic and Natural Values -Special design and reclamation measures may be required in <br />some of the SNV area in order to protect the outstanding scenic and natural landscape values of <br />the Book Cliffs and highway corridor on those portions of the leases listed below, The special <br />design and reclamation measures would be developed at the development stage. <br />T. 8 S., R. 102 W. <br />Sec 3, lots 8, 9, 16, 17, and 18, SW'/<, W'/z SE'/<, and SE'/< SE'/<. <br />This stipulation may be waived or reduced in scope if circumstances change or if the lessee can <br />demonstrate that operations can be conducted without causing unacceptable impacts on the <br />concern identified. <br />20. Deer and Elk Winter Range - In order to protect important seasonal wildlife habitat in some <br />of the lease area, surface-disturbing activities would only be allowed during the period from May <br />1 to December 1 on those portions of the lease listed below. <br />T. 7 S., R. 102 W. <br />Sec 34, E''/Z SE'/<. <br />T. 8 S., R. Steep Slopes -Special design practices may be required for surface-disturbing activities on <br />slopes that greater than 40 percent. Where impacts cannot be mitigated, no surface-disturbing <br />activities would be allowed. <br />23. The operator is responsible for informing all persons in the area who are associated with this <br />project that they will be subject to prosecution for knowingly disturbing historic or <br />archaeological sites, or for collecting artifacts or fossils.
