Highway G and Interstate-70 in Clear
Creek County. The affected land is north of U. S. 6 and runs
from just east of the Conoco gasoline dispenser, at the
intersection, for a distance of one-half mile east. The property
can best be inspected on foot.
History. The property to be knovrn as the Valstrum Prtine
has been owned by Violet Walstrum for some years. Originally the
property included all of the SE/4 of Section 34; when U. S. G was
constructed, it divided the land into two unequal parcels.
An estimated 130 acres was north of U. S. 6, and the remainder,
160+/- acres, was south of the highway. Some time later, more of
the area to the south was taken by the State of Colorado for
construction of I-70, leaving small bits end pieces of land that
appear to have little value. The 130+/- acres north of U. S. 6
are the lands to be affected by this r.,ining operation.
On January 31, 1983, Albert R. Frei and Violet Walstrum
executed an "Agreement to Purchase," which vain transfer the
ownership of the 130-acre parcel to Albert R. Frei. A clause in
the agreement gives Frei the right to request rezoning in Clear
Creek County and to request a permit from the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board.
Current_~9p'~ _ ons.
