Dept. of Natural Raseurces
Enclosed please find a copy of the letter we thought you had re-
ceived. This outlined our concerns regarding the pits of less than ten
acres.
Admittedly we are concerned with the financial aspects which as you
can judge xould be a burden on cur budget.
Jim Schmieding a member of your staff has met with us. He did tour
the area with Ed Bryant. Jim will assist us in preparing a typical per-
mit application. We do appreciate this help.
One of our continuing concerns is the apparent time required for
permit approval. With the public notices, the newspapers and Reclama-
tion Board action this will be forty to sixty days. This can be a pro-
blem when material is needed on short notice. Hopefully this can be
resolved.
We do appreciate your help and concern in this matter. As we work
thru the applications we will report to you our progress.
MLRJmal
cc: BOC
County Attorney
Ed Bryant
Sincerely,
Max L.
