• Signs and Markers <br />Introtluction. A variety of signs and markers are utilized to identify the mine, permit <br />perimeter, buffer zones, blasting areas and topsoil stockpiles. Local ordinance or <br />safety practice may dictate some variation or additional signs; however, all signs and <br />markers required are or will be prominently posted. The signs and markers will be <br />maintained by Seneca throughout the conduct of mining activities. A uniform design is <br />utilized throughout the permit area for each type of sign or marker. The signs are <br />lettered and colored so that they may be easily seen and read. The following are <br />descriptions of those signs required. <br />Mine and Permit Identification Sign. A mine identification sign is posted at the juncture <br />of [he Naul Road A with County Road 27. The sign shoos [he name, business address and <br />telephone number of the permi tree and identification numbers of current mining and <br />reclamation permits. These signs will not be removed until after release from all bonds. <br />Any disturbance caused by removal of the sign will be completely reclaimed. An example of <br />the mine identification sign is shown in Figure 26-1. <br />• <br /> Perimeter Markers. All markers are of a company standard design and made of metal erected <br /> on steel posts. Each perimeter marker is placed along the permit boundary rithin sight <br /> distance of the next marker. These marker are 8" by 24" in size rith an orange <br /> background. These markers are easily recognized and identify SE NECA COAL LOM PANY, PERMIT <br /> AREA BOUNDARY, and the permit number. An example marker is shown in Figure 26-2. <br />The permit area will be marked after the permit is granted. <br />Buffer Zone Markers. Buffer zones rill be posted with markers such as the one shown in <br />Figure 26-3. <br />Topsoil Markers. Stockpiled topsoil areas will be marked with markers reading "TOPSOIL", <br />and are 8" x 24" in size. An example of this marker is shown in Figure 26-4. Topsoil <br />markers will remain in place until all topsoil is removed. <br /> Blestin u Signs.
