Stevens <br />Environmental Specialist <br />1313 Sherman St. Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Dear James, <br />Far ~Idlife - <br />For People <br />10/25/00 <br />This letter is in response to the Huerfano County, Diamond Rock Pit ,File No. <br />M-2000-047. <br />Upon review of the application and site visit by District Wildlife Manager, Lonnie <br />Brown, it is the opinion of the Division of Wildlife and it's staff that little or no impact to <br />wildlife will be found from the actions proposed due to the site location of this project. <br />The site occupies an area of Pinion/Juniper and oak adjacent to a county road where <br />no Threatened or Endangered species are currently known to exist by our records. <br />Bear Creek is in close proximity to the proposed area and should not be affected by the <br />extraction operation. Therefore, impacts should be minor. <br />We would be happy to be involved and possibly provide input to the reclamation <br />efforts associated with this project and others like it if at all possible in the future. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this issue.
