ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />• <br />3.4.2 Soil Chemistry <br />3.4.2.1 Northern No. 1 (FF-Seam) Mine <br />Table I-6 gresents the results of soil analytical testing on five soil <br />profiles and stockpile samples within the Northern No. 1 (FF-Seam) Mine area. <br />Parameters reported in Table I-6 are pH, EC, saturation percent, SAR, percent <br />organic matter, phosphorus, potassium, texture and coarse fragments. This data is <br />used in Sec. 3.3 to evaluate the soil as a plant growth medium. <br />• <br />3.4.3 Suitability as a Plant Growth Medium <br />3.4.3.1 Northern No. 1 (FF-Seam) Mine <br />Table I-8 is an evaluation of each horizon of each soil series of the <br />Northern No. 1 (FF-Seam) Mine area as a plant growth medium. The evaluation is <br />based on a variety of sources of information: site-specific data as reported in <br />Table I-6, soil chemical and physical properties as reported in the SCS soil <br />interpretation records (Appendix), and soil series descriptions (Sec. 3.1 ). <br /> <br /> <br />I-64 <br />
