<br />CLIMATE <br /> <br />The proposed pit and batch plant site are located <br />along the Arkansas River approximately eight (8) miles <br />East of the Pueblo city limits. The area is considered <br />to be semi-arid, receiving less than eleven (11) inches <br />of precipitation per year. Summer temperatures often ex- <br />ceed 90o F. with a mean temperature during July of 76.9o F. <br />Winter temperatures are mild compared to the rest of the <br />State, with a mean January temperature of 29.8o F. The <br />overall mean temperature for the area is 52.780 with ex- <br />tremes ranging from -130 F. and 1040 F. <br />Source: U. S. Weather Bureau <br />
