The purpose of
this investigation and analysis was to determine the subsoil conditions in
the foundation and borrow areas of the proposed structure, and to determine
the design criteria which should be incorporated into the final construc-
tion plans of the structures.
PROPOSED RETENTIOPJ DAMS
It is our understanding that the proposed retention dams will be 10 feet
in height at their maximum section, and constructed in the locations shown
on the Test Hole Location Plan, Figure 1. It is assumed that crests will be
placed at maximum elevations of G,335; 6,328; and 6,318 feet for dams 1, 2
and 3, respectively. Crest lengths of the proposed dams will be approximately
100 to 150 feet and the dams will be spaced less than 200 feet on center.
FIELD INVESTIGATION
The field investigation for tfie proposed dams consisted of a total of
eight test holes drilled nn October 18, 1979 and three test pits excavated
on October 25, 1979. Refer to Figure 1 for the test hole and test pit loca-
tions. The test holes ~•~ere drilled utilizing a 4 inch diameter, continuous
flight po:ier auger. liaterial encoun±ered in the test holes was logged by
our fielrJ engineer on the site during the drilling operations. The various
soils that were encountered during the drilling operations are sho~,vn on
Figures 2 through 4, Logs of Test Holes. The soils were sampled utilizing
