r
Phase IVb Weekly Summary No. 4 Page 3 003-2203
Field Monitorine and Testine Activities
Golder observed construction activities associated with Phase IV earthworks. All conshuction
materials and soil materials placed were verified as suitable, and construction methods were in
accordance with project specifications. Removal of oversized and deleterious material from all fill
areas was observed. Golder observed Structural Fill (SF) placement in Phase N for materials, lift
thickness, moisture content, and compactive effort.
Golder observed placement of SLF and BF in Phase IVb for subgrade prepazation, thickness,
compaction, moisture content, and materials. Golder conducted eleven in-situ density and moisture
content tests to verify SLF placed complied with the specifications. Golder observed five depth
verification tests performed by Ames.
Golder observed and documented remediation activities associated with the Phase N underground
working construction. Workings were designated as "Shallow or Deep" as defined in the drawings.
Golder observed placement of CSB and CR for underground working remediaion. These materials
were placed in accordance with the drawings and specifications into excavated or open underground
workings. Golder previously obtained samples of SF, Select Structural Fill (SSF), CR, and Concrete
Plug (CP) for laboratory testing. Materials supp&ed met specifications.
Golder observed excavation of the geomembrane anchor trench for proper dimensions.
Golder observed geomembrane deployment, documenting ambient air temperature, panel
dimensions, seaming, tie-in overlap, and seam testing (trial seams, pressure, vacuum, and
destructive). Geomembrane placed in Phase IVb met specifications.
Golder observed and documented confirmation drilling activities associated with the Phase N
construction. Full-time monitoring was given to confirmation drilling of underground workings,
including logging holes, marking drill locations, surveying holes, and documenting underground
workings encountered.
Golder observed excavation of the LDT in Phase IVb for proper dimensions and slope. Excavation
met the requirements of the drawings.
Golder observed the placement of DCF in the Phase IVb azea. Golder had one CQA monitor per
dozer to observe DCF placement.
Laboratory Tests
Golder obtained one sample of Structural Fill (SFb-14) and one sample of Bedding Fill (BFb-02) for
laboratory testing. The samples tested met the requirements of the specifications and results aze
presented in Attachment B.
PhsseIV640tt13-26 doc Golder Associates Inc.
