EXHIBIT DD ~3 ~ <br />• MINING PLAN <br />The mining method being used is to remove and stockpile the existing <br />topsoil and excavation of the sand and gravel in accordance with Exhibit <br />D. The existing pit is broken up into four areas. Area 1, Mined Out <br />Area (74.1 acres) has already been issued and some reclamation has begun. <br />(See Reclamation Plant, Exhibit FF). Area 2, Present Mining Area (18 <br />acres) is now being mined in benches using loaders and trucks. A conveyor <br />will be utilized to move mined material in early 1981. Area 3, Near <br />Future Mining Area (7.9 acres) will be mined beginning in 4-5 years. <br />Area 4, Distant Future Mining Area (59.4 acres) will be mined beginning <br />in approximately 10-12 years. Annual mining production averages between <br />250,000 - 500,000 tons. Water diversions and impoundments will be listed <br />• in Exhibit G. <br />Time Table <br />Area 1 - Reclamation has begun - it cannot be completed until the entire <br />pit is mined out. <br />Area 2 - Present Mining Area - Estimated Production rate will complete <br />mining in 6-8 years. <br />Area 3 - Near Future Mining - Starts in 5 years - Estimated production <br />rate will complete mining in 12-14 years. <br />Area 4 - Distant Future Mining -starts in 12-14 years and will be compl- <br />eted iii 40-60 years. <br />• Deposit Information <br />Sand and Gravel varies in thickness from 5-75 feet. The material under- <br />lying this deposit is shale. <br />
