'i • EXHIBIT H
WILDLIFE INFORMATION
Description
This pit is located on the East and lJest sides of Highway 83 (Academy
Blvd), between Drennan Road on the North and Bradley Road on the South.,
E1 Paso County, South of Colorado Springs. It is on 2 irregularly
shaped plots totaling 317.2 acres. The majority of the land is native
grassland with some wild species of plants present, affording habitat
far a Timited amount of wildlife.
Observations
• The Wildlife Conservation Office made a study of this area to determine
the various birds and animals living in the pit (See attached statement).
Daniels Sand personnel have observed numerous unidentified birds, some
ducks on the Fountain Mutual Irrigation Ditch and cottontail and Jack
rabbits from time to time. '
Impact and Reclamation
Reclamation of this site will include sloping, topsoiling and planting
of additional vegetation (See attached soils information - Exhibit J).
This should increase the grass cover somewhat, creating habitat for
birds and small game animals.
The continued operation of this pit will have no significant negative
• impact on wildlife. The reclamation program should replace and enhance
the habitat for wildlife species.
