25
CJ
4, OJN(S USICN
Maximum subsidence, slope and strain have baen determined for
the E seam coal seam located in the Harvey Gap area. The calculated
values have been transferxed to the inclined seam following the
approach published in the Subsidence Engineer's Handbook.
The. line of maximum subsidence has been drafted on a topo-
graphic map with the ground surface extent outlined by the ~rodified
angle of draw. Twenty six surveying Points have been reocrrurended for
verifying the predicted values of maximum subsidence aru~ strain.
The surface extent of the subsidence area could be reduced if
• the right lower part of the panel is only partially developed. Fig-
ore 14 shows that the subsidence area mold then be projected inside
of the property area. If such approach is adopted then an undcs-
ground observation of pillars mupled with the surface subsid~,~re
surveying is reoorrnnended. Results fron these r~asurermnts slwuld
provide the mine operator with valuable data enabling better s,t,-
sidenoa control.
