Section 779.19 (a) Continued. <br />• Vegetation. This community contains many of the meadow range site <br />species. Total cover is 86%. It is composed of 11% shrubs, 42% <br />grasses, and 47% (orbs. Major species are silver sagebrush, aster <br />spp., yarrow, carex spp., and bluegrass. Production is made up of <br />40% grasses, 50% forbs, and 10% shrubs. Total production is 1989 <br />pounds per acre. For detailed data by species, see Table 39, <br />Silver Sagebrush-Meadow Range Site Percent Composition and Frequence. <br />Nine of the 15 species found in [his site are included in the <br />revegetation seed mixture. The remaining species either have not <br />proven useful or are not available for revegetation. <br />Mountain Shrub Range Site <br />Physiographic Features. The mountain shrub type is generally found <br />on steep slopes along drainages in the sagebrush and aspen areas. <br />It may also extend into the sagebrush creating a broad ecotone. It <br />• occurs on all aspects at high and low elevations. <br />Soils. Soils resemble those of both aspen and sagebrush with <br />regard to erosion hazard and permeability. <br />Vegetation. This range site is composed of 27% grasses, 18% forbs, <br />and 55% shrubs. Major species are gambel oak, snowberry, chokecherry, <br />serviceberry, and sagebrush. Production is made up of 24% grasses, <br />6% forbs, and 70% shrubs. Total cover is 93% and total production <br />is 1610 pounds per acre. For detailed data by species, see Table 40, <br />Mountain Shrub Range Site, Percent Species Composition and Frequence. <br />Twelve of the 24 species identified in this range site are included <br />in the revegetation seed mixture. <br />Pastureland Range Site <br />Physiographic Features.
