Section 779.19 (a) Continued.
• treated sagebrush has received a surface treatment which changed
the natural species composition. This site is composed of big
sagebrush and smooth brome grass as the dominant plants. Total
plant cover is 91 percent. Production is 1861 pounds per acre.
The potential for revegetation is similar to that of aspen and big
sagebrush.
Meadow Range Site
Physiographic Features. This site is located on drainage bottoms
and low areas. It consists of very gentle slopes to nearly flat
topography.
Soils. Soils are moderately deep on most sites. They are loamy in
texture. Erosion hazard is slight. Permeability and infiltration
are low,
• Vegetation. Vegetation cover is 82 percent; total cover is 98
percent. This is the most productive site with 3037 pounds per
acre. (See Table 38, Meadow Range Site, Percent Species Composi-
tion and Frequence). Four of the 15 species found in this site are
included in the revegetation seed mixture. The remaining species
either have not proven useful or are not available for revegetation.
Silver Sagebrush - Meadow Range Site
Physiographic Features. This site occurs on upper flood plains and
well drained plains adjacent to drainage channels. It is nearly
level to very gently sloping.
Soils. Soils are moderately deep and usually fertile. Erosion
hazard is low. Permeability and root penetration is moderate.
• 779-120
