Parkdale Proiect • III IIIIIIIIIIIII III ~ Reclamation Permit
Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan
1.0 Introduction
The Parkdale Project Reclamation Plan includes two major sections. Section 1 describes
techniques and methods to be employed during the pre-mining and active mining phases
of the project while Section 2 describes post-mining reclamation activities.
1.1 Post-mining Land Use
The Parkdale Ranch Project Area will be reclaimed to open space and dry land pasture
consistent with pre-mining land use and the overall development of adjacent lands.
Concurrent reclamation of disturbed azeas will be implemented to the extent possible.
The Gravel Baz area will be backfilled with available overburden. All disturbed areas
will be graded. Current plans for permanent reclamation /stabilization measures include
development of apost-mining topography that is self-draining and which blends into
adjacent undisturbed lands to the extent possible. Following grading, disturbed areas
except for the quarry faces and benches will be topsoiled and seeded with the permanent
seed mix. The quarry faces and benches will be left in the as mined condition.
1.2 Soil and Overburden Salvage
Available soil will be salvaged at a depth ranging between 6 and 18 inches over the areas
to be mined by operations at Parkdale. Occasionally, occurrences of overburden will be
removed from some of the gravel baz areas to be mined.
1.3 Soil Salvage
Available soil will be stripped from, and a buffer of at least 10 feet will be stripped ahead
of, any area to be mined, excavated, graded or used as a permanent mineral or
overburden disposal site. Available soil will be salvaged at a depth ranging between 6
and 18 inches over the areas to be mined by operations at Parkdale. Up to 6 inches of
soil, where available, will be stripped from overburden, and mineral stockpile areas,
processing facility areas, staging areas, improved, expanded, and new access, haul, and
support road locations that will be graded or surfaced, and any other similar areas to be
disturbed. Soil screened from the gravel bar aggregate during processing will be saved
for future use as topsoil in reclamation. An average of 12 inches of soil will be salvaged
from the Gravel Baz Mine area and 6 inches from the granite Quarry process area and the
plant and mineral stockpile azeas. Soil will be handled separately from overburden and
either hauled directly to graded or prepazed azeas or stockpiled where it will not be
disturbed, contaminated, or lost to erosion. No soil is available for salvage from the
granite quarry area.
