-14-
The conductivity along Good Spring Creek gradually increased •
I from upstream to downstream sites as coould be expected. There
wzis no significant jump in the conductivities near the mouth of
i
r Si:reeter Canyon where effects of. contaminated ground water would
!1 bey expected.
Tyre surface and ground water quality were both found to be high-
lp~ variable in terms of specific conductivity from the historical
1 data. The measurements made in 1979 were within the range of
1 va.riat.ion seen in 1974 and 1975, though they were in general
lower than the historical data. The most probable explanation
of this apparent increase in water quality may be a dilutiom
effect from the relatively high runoff throughout the spring
1 and summer of 1979. There is no evidence of contamination of
„_ the ground water by the surface mining of Colowyo.
C •
L
L
L
L ~ -
L •
Leonard Rice Consulting Water Engineers.lnc.
