APPLICATION <br />GENERAL <br />In accordance with regulations set forth in 43CFR 3410.2-1, Getty <br />Coal Company ("Getty") hereby applies for a Federal Coal Exoloration <br />License to conduct the exploration drilling program as described herein. <br />The purpose of the program is to evaluate the coal resource contained <br />within the lands described herein. All parties wishing to participate in <br />the proposed program on a pro-rata cost sharing basis will be invited to <br />contact Getty Coal Company, 5250 South 300 West, Salt Lake City, Utah <br />84107, within thirty (30) days of publication of the Notice of Invitation <br />(see Appendix) in the Federal Register. <br />The prospect area is in Moffat County, Colorado, approximately 15 <br />miles south of Craig. <br />Getty Coal Company currently holds Federal Coal Exploration <br />License C-36445 which covers essentially the same area described in this <br />application. License C-36445 is due to expire on July Z0, 1985. Getty <br />requests that this license become effective following the expiration or <br />termination of C-36445, whichever is earlier. <br />3410.2-1(a)(2) An area in a public land survey state for which <br />an application is filed shall be described by legal description or, if on <br />unsurveved lands, by metes and bounds, in accordance with 3471.1-1(d)(1) of <br />this title. An application for an exploration license on acquired lands <br />shall describe the area according to the description in the deed or <br />document by which the United States acquired title in accordance with <br />3471.1-1(d)(2) of this title. <br />Table 1 provides a legal description of the Hart Syncline <br />Prospect area and lists the names and addresses of property owners of <br />record. <br />-1- <br />
