vi. Employee Education
Each employee, upon hiring, as part of new employee
training, will be instructed in preventive maintenance of
equipment and structures, good housekeeping procedures,
and daily inspections as outlined in the Eastside Mine
SWMP. Each employee, thereafter, will receive annual
SWMP refresher instruction. During employee instruction
Eastside Coal will stress preventive maintenance, good
housekeeping, daily inspections, and timely repairs as
outlined in the SWMP.
vii. Schedule for Construction of Additional Facilities
Construction of additional facilities is not anticipated
to increase the amount of diesel fuel, lubricating oil,
and waste oil or any other materials that could
contaminate state waters.
viii. Contractors and Agencies
Available outside contractors, agencies, or other sources
which could be utilized during clean-up in the event of
a spill are: Glenwood Springs Hazardous Material Unit,
Toby's Vacuum Truck Service, and Johnson Construction.
The emergency telephone numbers for these contractors are
listed in Appendix C.
ix. Annual Review
Eastside Coal Company will perform an annual review of
the SWMP and materials containment plan during the second
quarter of each calendar year. The annual review will
update the contingency plan and provide amendments for
the SWMP annual report as needed. If no conditions
and/or procedures are changed or require amending, the
annual review will indicate that no changes in the SWMP
are made.
