Response to Technical Ad~cy Review, 19 March, 2001 ~ Page 6
The following item was not addressed in your letter, but had been discussed previously, and so
is included for the record.
Item no. Issue: Stock ile eomet
CommenNdeficiency DMG is concerned about establishing vegetative cover on 1 H:1 V slopes
and recommends 3H:1V slo s.
Res onse
We appreciate the concern and understand the reason for the recommendation, but are constrained both by space
and by Counly requirements to provide barriers to vision and noise. It is possbbk:, using readily available commercial
polymers for soil stabilization (applied by spraying) to keep 1 H:1V slopes stable and allow grass to become
established on these slopes. While we will attempt to reduce slopes whenever possible, we feel confident in the
ability to establish vegetative cover and prevent excessive erosion at the maximum slope as indicated. This has
been ex lained in various Exhibits discussin stock files.
