It is found on tc,e <br />=_lopes and streem terraces. This =_eil is an e;;cellent scurce of <br />topsoi) for your reclamation effort. However, much of it has been <br />disturbed by previous quarrying. Caro st,ould be tal~.en to stgcl•:pile <br />remaining material for later reconstruction. <br />The Rogert soil is shallow and well drained. It is found on <br />mountainsides. This unit will yield the gravel. The soil pr:vfile is <br />only at~out 17 inches thic);. There is about 5 inches of soil material <br />that would 6e suitable for use in reclama±ion. This material should <br />be saved if possible. <br />VEGETATION: Current vegetation is mainly grasses r.+ith open stands of <br />ponderosa pine. Grasses native tv the site are mountain muhly, <br />Arizona fescue, F3rry eatgrass, and prarie junegrzss. Grasses found <br />en the site were blue arama, western wheatgrass ~=_nd dropseed, ind'arl <br />ricegress, needle and thread, Japanese brume, cheatgrass, and <br />bcttlebrush squirrelrail. orbs found on the sike were twcV;wheat an- <br />penstemon. Half-shrubs and shrubs fc,und ~n the site u%ere fringed <br />sag?brush, broom snal::e~,+eed, rabbitbru=_h, rneuntainmatogany, currant. <br />and seapweed yucca. <br />The seed clan der:elvped contains .9 nati„e species and 2 <br />Introduced SpeC1e5.
