The end of the project is
predicted to be three (3) years as the Free Use Permit
issued by the Bureau of Land Management is for that length of
tame .
Removal of topsoil will vary slightly from 6 inches to 10
inches and will be placed in the configuration of a berm as a
visual and erosion barrier on the East side of the pit.
7'he material at the site has virtually no overburden and is
expected to all be used. The predicted mining depth is 20
feet .
7'he mining operation will be conducted by the county road
crews on a need basis with a minimal amount of stockpiling to
tie done. The equipment to be used in the operation will
consist of a bulldozer to scrape and pile the material, a
front-end loader to load dump trucks so that material may be
transported to use sites. There may be an occasional need to
~;creen and stockpile material. On these occasions, stockpiles
will be located as shown on the map or located in previously
alined areas.
The area disturbed by mining will be a irregular shaped
tract, containing approximately three (3) acres. Approximate
dimensions for the site are as follows; Southwesterly -- 500
feet, Northwesterly -- 210 feet, Northeasterly -- 150 feet,
Northwesterly -- 70 feet, Northeasterly -- 275 feet,
Southeasterly -- 320 feet.
The subject parcel adjoins Fremont County Road # 12 and
access is gained from said road. No major new construction of
roads will be necessary. The reason for the project is to
improve existing county roads.
From all preliminary investigations, there are no indications
that ground water will be encountered throughout the entire
project. Quagmire Creek, an intermittent stream, is near the
project site, to the East an average of approximately one
hundred (100) feet, but plans do not include disturbing the
creek in any way.
