Depr. of fvatural Resources
Re: Regular Gravel Pit Permit Application for the Otero County Hancock Gravel Pit
Dear Mr. Loye:
Please find the enclosed permit application for our Hancock gravel pit. It
is belived that this application contains all of the required information as re-
quired by law.
It should be noted that Otero County plans to reclaim the area as soon as
practicable and in accordance with the Soil Conservation Service recommendations.
The County currently mines about 0.50 acres each year on a year round basis,
but not continuously in most given years. Our operation utilizes most of the over-
burden that exists, but roadway maintenance operations in the area will provide
excellant topsoil for the reclamation process of this gravel pit.
Should you have any questions or comments regarding this application please
do not hesitate to contact me.
ry tru yours;
Don Aldr'ch, Jr.
Otero County Engineer &
Land Use Administrator
DA/ke
