Colo Dept. of natural Resource
School District Number One has been very concerned about the condition
of the roads in the Cokedale-Bon Carbo area. We have a full bus load of
students transpozted daily from this area to our school system. These
students are transported over approximately 70 miles of mud every day.
The students have missed numerous days of school this year because of
the conditions of the road and the inability of the driver to get the
bus out of this area.
We feel that education is probably is one of the most important concerns
of our community and the young people. We would encourage that you gravel
this road as soon as possible. We do not want these students to miss
any more school.
Our driver has indicated that the condition of the road is definitely
a health and safety hazard and if we have a bus accident because of this,
it could be very disastrous.
