INSPECTION REPORT - PAGE 2
FILE N0. M-82-075
DATE: September 18, 1986
OBSERVATIONS OF IMPORTANCE:
1. Some improvement has occurred on the road leading to the future mill
site. The road has been widened somewhat.
2. Grading and possibly some material dumping has occurred adjacent to
Trail Creek. The culvert may not possess sufficient capacity to ensure
proper flow during large precipitation events or during spring snowmelt.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Please update the Division as to your development plans, specifically on
the side of the road opposite the mine entrance.
2. Please also address the issue of culvert capacity.
3. We still believe that the financial warranty is low given today's
reclamation costs.
Financial warranties must be calculated based on the amount required for the
state of Colorado to contract reclamation at the site. This includes labor,
seed, plant materials, grading costs, equipment rental, etc. Even though your
site is small, it would be impossible to perform adequate reclamation for
$100. oo.
Please submit accurate acreage estimates based on your current disturbed
area. Include all affected areas. We will calculate a revised warranty
amount based on~ese figures and on your approved reclamation plan.
An increase will be recommended to the Mined Land Reclamation Board at the
October 23-24, 1986 Board meeting. The recommended amount will be between
5750.00 and $1,000.00.
Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can discuss this issue.
Thank you for your cooperation.
/tmb
Doc.
