<br />2.0 SOIL INVENTORY-SURFACE FACILITIES AREA <br />2.1 Soil Series Descriptions <br />The soils of the permit area are described in table 2.7-1. They are <br />the Falfa clay loam, Grail clay loam, Herm clay loam taxadjunct, <br />Panitchen clay loam, Sill clay taxadjunct, Ustollic Haplargids, Ustic <br />Torriorthents, and the Zyme clay loam. Detailed pedon descriptions <br />for each of these soils (except Ustic Torriorthents, Ustic Haplargids <br />and Zyme soils) are in the appendix. <br />2.2 Soil Map and Map Units <br />The Soil Map of the Permit Area (figure 1) is in the pocket at the <br />end of the report. The soil map legend is on the page facing the map <br />pocket. <br />Ten (10) soil map units in the permit area are described in table <br />2.2-1. The soil map units comprise complexes (3), consociations (4), <br />and miscellaneous land types (3). Table 2.2-1 gives the symbol, name <br />and components of the units, and provides use and management related <br />characteristics. <br />• 2.3 Classification <br />The classification (USDA, 1975) of the soils is presented in table <br />2.3-t. <br /> <br />7 <br />
