R 49+ inches interbedded sandstone and shale.
This pedon has a m uch thicker All horizon than the typical range of about 4 to
6 inches. It is a heavy loam, where most surface horizons of the Unnamed series 51
are looms. The surface horizon has about 25 percent gravels and 10 percent cobbles
throughout. The mollic epipedon overlies bedrock at 49 inches.

A pedon (05-02-01-021) a deep phase of the Unnamed Series 51, 8 to 15 percent
slopes, a fine-loamy Pachic Cryoboroll 1,960 feet east, 505 feet south, northwest
corner Section 30, T.SN R.85W at 7,365 feet elevation is:

brown (10 Yr 3/2) moist; very fine single grain; soft, very friable;
slightly sticky and slightly plastic; many very tine and fine roots,
• common medium roots, few coarse roots; non-calcareous; pH 6. /;
gradual smooth boundary.
A12 5-14 inches brown (10 Yr 4/3) sandy clay loam, very dark grayish
brown (10 YR 3/2) moist; weak very fine subangular blocky
structure parting to very fine single grain; slightly hard, very
friable; slightly sticky and slightly plastic; common tine and very
fine roots, few medium and coarse roots; non-calcareous; pH 6.7;
gradual smooth boundary.
B2 14-37 inches dark brown (10 YR 3/3) heavy sandy clay loam, very
dark grayish brown (10 Yr 3/2) moist; weak very fine angular
blocky structure parting to very fine grain; soft, very friable;
sticky and plastic; few fine and very fine roots, very tew medium
and coarse roots; non-calcareous; pH 6.7; abrupt wavy boundary.
