<br />• <br />R 49+ inches interbedded sandstone and shale. <br />This pedon has a m uch thicker All horizon than the typical range of about 4 to <br />6 inches. It is a heavy loam, where most surface horizons of the Unnamed series 51 <br />are looms. The surface horizon has about 25 percent gravels and 10 percent cobbles <br />throughout. The mollic epipedon overlies bedrock at 49 inches. <br />UNNAMED SERIES 51 -DEEP PHASE PEDON PROFILE /f <br />05-02-01-021 <br />A pedon (05-02-01-021) a deep phase of the Unnamed Series 51, 8 to 15 percent <br />slopes, a fine-loamy Pachic Cryoboroll 1,960 feet east, 505 feet south, northwest <br />corner Section 30, T.SN R.85W at 7,365 feet elevation is: <br />'~`I I 0-5 inches dark grayish brown (10 Yr 4/2) loam, very dark grayish <br />brown (10 Yr 3/2) moist; very fine single grain; soft, very friable; <br />slightly sticky and slightly plastic; many very tine and fine roots, <br />• common medium roots, few coarse roots; non-calcareous; pH 6. /; <br />gradual smooth boundary. <br />A12 5-14 inches brown (10 Yr 4/3) sandy clay loam, very dark grayish <br />brown (10 YR 3/2) moist; weak very fine subangular blocky <br />structure parting to very fine single grain; slightly hard, very <br />friable; slightly sticky and slightly plastic; common tine and very <br />fine roots, few medium and coarse roots; non-calcareous; pH 6.7; <br />gradual smooth boundary. <br />B2 14-37 inches dark brown (10 YR 3/3) heavy sandy clay loam, very <br />dark grayish brown (10 Yr 3/2) moist; weak very fine angular <br />blocky structure parting to very fine grain; soft, very friable; <br />sticky and plastic; few fine and very fine roots, very tew medium <br />and coarse roots; non-calcareous; pH 6.7; abrupt wavy boundary. <br />CI 37-47 inches yellowish brown (10 Yr 5/4) clay loam, dark yellowish <br />• brown (10 YR 4/4), moist, moderate tine to medium angular blocky <br />to massive structure; slightly hard, friable; sticky and plastic; few <br />2.3-102 <br />
