identification. The soil series and accompanying numerical identification code are <br />• found in Table 2.3-8. A state code, mine code, series number, pedon number and <br />horizon depths make up the complete code. For example, the typical pedon for the <br />Gapo series having 5 horizons is identified as follows: <br />OS-03-17-031/00-04 <br />Colorado -Trout Creek Mine -Gapo series <br />- pedon /~ 031/horizon depth from 0 to 4 inches <br />The code describing a sample of the series and pedon, but taken at a depth of <br />4 to 10 inches would be: <br />OS-03-17-031/04-10 <br />Typical pedons were located outside the proposed disturbed areas where possible <br />and marked with 4" X 4" white posts. Soil analysis was conducted by Front Range <br />Labs, Inc., Fort Collins, Colorado.
