Dear Mr. Mathews:

This letter will serve to documen*_ our telephone conversation of
May 29, 1984 concerning the vegetation inventory of Consolidation Coal
Company's Danforth Hills project. According to current plans disturbance
within the meadow vegetation type will be less than 5% of the total
dist~rhance. As such, CMLRD does not require samples be obtained from
vegetation types with small area disturbance. The exception to this is
if the vegetation type were of great importance to wildlife. Therefore
we wil? not be o'otaining samples from the meadow vegetation type, nor
will a reference area be selected. For reclamation success purposes one
of the other vege*.ation type (sagebrush) reference areas will serve to
judge the success of reclamation in the meadow acreages.
