• MILEAGE: 61
PROJECT: Haul Road G/Pond 005 DATE: 6/°.4/92
LOCATION: Seneca IIW Mine, Routt Cty, CO TIMfi: 2.5 hrs.
CLIENT: Peabody Coal ENGR/TECH: HS
WORK PERFORMED:
The excavation crews placed and compacted on-site borrow
from the cuts between Sta. 46+r)0 and 50+00 and placed it i^
the fills at Sta. ~5+00.
As renuested, we visited the project site on this date
to conduct nuclear density tests, z:30 through s31, on the
material placed for common embankment fill.
we obtained a sample of material excavated from the Dam
Site far a r,hecl;point Proctor determination. The results did
not match the previous Proctor curves, therefore a full
Proctor has been performed. This sample will he referred to
• as Sample :1 for .lob No. 91-1100A.
In addition, we observed the Dam Site for Pond 005. The
site had been cleared of top soil and vegetation and crews
were cutting into the natural soils for the Ivey way. The
natural soils underneath the proposed fill were also being
rer_ompacted with a CAT 815. One area of soft, saturated
natural soils was noted by the operator's near the downstream
toe of the fill. We recommended that this area be stabilized
prior to fill plar_ement.
REMARKS:
The material tested generally met project
specifications.
Please refer to the attached sheet for results of
today's testing.
VERBAL DISCUSSIONS:
?1r.
