Scheierman:
iii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
999
David C. Shelton
Director
I thought I should take this opportunity to notify you that two of the permit
applications listed above are not yet adequate fcr Board presentation. The
application for the Lundvall Pit (82-104) and the Wiedman Pit (82-105) should
have a statement inserted.in the mining plan to provide that the affected
Zands will be smooth-graded prior to each period of temporary abandonment
(to minimize the contribution of additional sediments to the streamflow)
and that no mining operations will take place in the active stream channel
during streamflow events.
In addition, 2 will have to notify the Division [later Resources with
regard to the construction of the dam proposed f the wiedmar..Pit. We
recognize the landowner's desire to hold all avai~iable runoff, but the
possibility for conflicts with adjudicated water rights should be explored.
Now tall wiZ1 this dam be?
All the other permit applications referenced above ire ~plete and adequate
for presentation at the June 23-24, 2982 meeting of the r. ned Land Reclamation
Board. Please contact me if you think we should discuss she details of
your proposal to reclaim additional lands in lieu of payme.it of the $1,000.00
civil penalty assessed .by the Board.
5' rely,
~~
Peter H.
