III IIIIIIIIIIIII III Doc Date:12/11/2001
• ~~SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that the COMLR will be provided with map(s) illustrat-
ing the location of topsail stockpiles conswcted during the previous year and the approximate locations for
stockpiles proposed for conswction during the upcoming year. Those maps (5-1 and 5-2) are included in
this sectiun.
These maps were initially revised in 1990 and have been submitted annually in Appendnc W updating the
report and map series, as per TR-48. Each update includes the locations of existing stockpiles. Since 1990,
Trapper has provided the approximate topsoil volumes (cyds) for existing stockpiles. Table 4.9.2-1 lists all
existing stockpiles with their identification nomenclature, a coordinate (based on the approximate center of
the pile), the basal area (acres), an approximate initial conswction date and the current approximate
volume; and is updated annually.
At the end of 1992 there were 97 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 188 acres and storing
approximatety 3,777,000 cubic yards of salvaged materials.
During 1992, Trapper conswcted 14 new stockpiles and added topsoil to three existing piles. Additionally,
portions of three existing piles were removed and four piles were eliminated via topsoil replacement
• The proposed relocation of two stockpiles (MP6 and AS) as submitted and approved in MR-111 was not
completed in 1991. The new topsoil stockpile (AS) relocation will be complete in 1993.
The proposed locations (as shown on Maps 5-1 to 5~) for topsoil stockpiling in 1993 may exceed the actual
number that will be conswcted. Proposed topsoil stockpiles and the number of piles conswc[ed are
dependent upon the field conditions that are encountered each reclamation season. Additionally, particular
piles maybe depleted from or added to in order to maintain a cost effective salvage or replacement program
during a particular year.
Enclosed are revised permit tables 4.9-3 and 4.9.4 which describe Trapper's overall topsoil stockpile
inventory through the 1992 permit term. These values reflect the topsoil inventory estimated in our 1990
Annual Report to the Division. Tables 4.9-3 and 4.91 in this document are informational only and are not
intended to replace the 1993 to 1997 term tables in the main G81-010 document
[~~\~~s]
•
