Typical seismic refraction spread.

SEISMIC REFRACTION SURVEY RESULTS
Survey 1, Spread I
Apparent depth to bedrock along the first spread varies from 12' on the west end to 15' in the middle to 7'
on the east end. It is likely the actual depths to bed rock near the ends of the spread are less deep than
indicated by the processed profile. Bedrock velocity agrees with known values for sandstone velocity.
Overburden velocity is typical of unconsolidated sediments. The profile for the spread shows evidence of
a channel in the bedrock (Figure 7).
UXLbw Seismic Line Parallel to pailroatl Tracks
6030 ----..-.-_- __._.-._~- ___-._-.__-.. ______.._____-
E
6025 yr 912
91 92 93 9d g5 g6 M g7 96 99 910 911
? 6020
•+-Grournf Surface
6015
V1 =15001US
~ 6010 i~aotlrock
6005 V2 = 7825 ft/s
6000
0 20 d0 60 80 100 120
darance trt)
______-.. __ - _... _.____ __ _-_.._-__ __--_._._l
Fig. 7.
