On 10/2/97, DMG provided notice to DOW of a 112 Construction Materials Reclamation
Permit Application from Daren Stone for the Stone Gravel Pit, Permit No. M-97-089.
DMG has received objections from local citizens to the proposed operation, indicating
possible adverse impact to threatened and/or endangered species of wildlife and plants.
However, DMG has not received comments from DOW regarding the application.
On 12/30/97, DMG issued its recommendation for approval of the application. The permit
application will be considered by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board during the
January 28-29, 1998 Board meeting.
The proposed site is located approximately 6 miles SW of Cortez, in portions of the NE '/a
of Section 13, and SE '/. of Section 12, T35N, R17W, NMPM, Montezuma County.
