2-f,. <br />2.3.2 Access and Haul Roads <br />Access to the central facilities area shall be provided by <br />the existing Munger Canyon access-haul road from Colorado <br />State Highway 139, Douglas Pass Road (see original Mine Permit <br />Application, File No..C-020-81). However, there shall be three <br />additional roads required to allow for access to: 1) McClane <br />Canyon Mine, 2) refuse disposal area, and 3) both Munger and <br />McClane Canyon Mine sites when the tail track proposed by the <br />customer is occupied while loading the train. <br />The McClane Canyon access road shall connect the central facili- <br />ties area with the McClane Canyon Mine site. For horizontal <br />and vertical alignment, see Figures 2.2-10.15 through 2.2- <br />10.45. The road shall be located north of Munger Canyon access <br />road and east of East Salt Creek. The road shall run primarily <br />in a northeast southwest direction along the eastern edge of <br />the valley bottom. <br />• A total, excavation of 112,500 cubic yards shall be required <br />for construction of McClane Canyon access road. The excavation <br />required shall consist of approximately 24,545 cubic yards <br />of topsoil, which will be stripped and stockpiled, plus 87,955 <br />cubic yards of additional excavated material which shall be <br />used for road and central facilities constructior~ The access <br />road shall require embankment of ~`~ cubic, yards while the <br />remaining excavated material, which is rock, shall be crushed, <br />graded and used for subbase on the roads and central area. <br />The refuse disposal area access-haul road shall be constructed <br />south of Munger Canyon access road and east of East Salt Creek <br />along the eastern edge of the valley bottom. The alignment <br />of the road shall be maintained within a two hundred foot wide <br />corridor; all cut and fill slopes will be contained within <br />the corridor. For horizontal and vertical alignment, see <br />Figures 2.2-6.15 through 2.2-6.45. <br />• <br />
