Memo to Gregg Squire - 3 - May 9, 1990
8. ThE+ water rights included as Figure 8 reference Gunnell Mines and Milling
as the owner of such rights. The statement is made that CCCM owns two
shares in the Mead and Polar Star Extension Ditch. Can you provide
documentation which ties ownership from Gunnell to CCCM? Is the water
available year round?
Exhibit E- Reclamation Plan
9, Seeding of the bank slope of North Clear Creek adjacent to the mill is
proposed. This should improve the present stability of the channel banks
during flood conditions, however, na mention is made as to whether this
is sufficient protection.
a. Is the mill located within the 100-year floodplain?
b. Will the 2-foot berm proposed for construction exclude the 100-year
flood?
c. Are there any local ordinances on flood control applicable for the
operation?
d. Is riprap necessary, especially in the area of the water intake
structure, so the channel and banks are not eroded during flood
conditions?
e, As all the structures on site are proposed to be left as permanent
structures, the Division recommends the channel in the vicinity of
the mill be designed to pass the 100-year flood safely and without
erosion. All quantitative information used in the design should be
submitted to the for Division review,
JTD/yjb
cc: Bruce Humphries
Steve Renner
Tom Schreiner
6962E
